The DALTA-JONELTA FOUNDATION INC., formerly JONELTA INDIGENT FOUNDATION, INC. is the full realization of the University of Perpetual Help DALTA Medical Center’s Mission to serve the people in the depressed areas of Las Piñas and the nearby cities as far as Mindoro through quality health care, best education, livelihood program and spiritual counseling. It was established in June 27, 1987 through the initiative of DrJBGEN. Antonio L. Tamayo, the founder and present Chairman of the Board and CEO of University of Perpetual Help System DALTA. 

        With the help of the Hospital’s active medical staff, members can avail of the basic medical and other health services. Extremely affordable fees are maintained for the use of the 42-bed ward including 3 full meals a day. discounted rates on medicines, laboratories and diagnostic facilities. 

         JONELTA is the acronym that DR./BGEN Antonio L. Tamayo coined to honor his father Dr. JOse, mother Josefina “NEna’, family name of his mother Laperal, and father TAmayo. His parents are both medical practitioners who have great concern for the less privileged and aware of the health problems besetting the community at large. The JONELTA Indigent Foundation Inc. was able to provide services to more than 96,947 beneficiaries. 

        On September 10, 2007 dunng the birthday celebration of the late Dr. Jose Tamayo, the JONELTA (Las Pinas) Indigent Foundation, Inc. opened its 50 beds multispecialty ward at the second floor of UPHDMC Health Tower namely OB. Gynecology, Gyne Oncology, Surgery. Medicine, Pediatric, Medicine Oncology, ENT, Ophthalmology, and Intensive Care Unit for regular and isolated cases. 

           The expansion and separation of the Clinical Division from the main hospital qualifies the JON ELTA (Las Pinas) Indigent Foundation, Inc. to be registered under a new name. On February 24, 2009, with the approval of its constitution and by-laws by the Security and Exchange Commission as a non-stock, non-profit organization, it was changed into- DALTA-JONELTA FOUNDATION. INC. (DJFI). DALTA is also an acronym of the owner Daisy Antonio LaperaI Tamayo. It gave fruition to the ideals of the founder and owner of the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA to be ever effective in perpetuating the following social advocacies: health, education, livelihood, spiritual service, research, sports and emergency preparedness for the upliftment of the standard of living of the less fortunate and making life bearable and meaningful for them. On October 16, 2009, the foundation was given a certificate of registration by the Bureau of Internal Revenue. 

         The quality of service delivery to the members of the DJFI (being a charity division of UPHDMC) is in accordance with the standards set by Quality Assurance Program of Philippine Health Insurance Corporation. On May 4, 2010, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation grants the accreditation to UPHDMC as ‘Center of Excellence” (Level 4 Hospital). August 5 of the same year, the foundation was recognized by Department of Social Welfare and Development and was issued a certificate of registration and license to operate. 

        The DJFI Office, out-patient clinic and in-patient with 50-bed multispecialty ward was relocated on the second floor of UPHSD Uni Mall and was blessed during the birthday celebration of Dr. Antonio Tamayo’s wife and Chair of the Chief Executive Board, Dr. Daisy M. Tamayo last June 10, 2011. To date. the DALTA-JONELTA Foundation Inc. under its new name and location continue to increase member to more than 6,000 beneficiaries through active recruitment and proper orientation seminar. Through the years, it has kept pace with the changing context and circumstances of life in undertaking its noble vision and mission.

A broad based but well-grounded DALTA-JONELTA Foundation enabling unserved sectors to strengthen and create opportunities for themselves, now and tomorrow.

MISSION

To enable the DALTA group to reach, be accessible to, and serve otherwise unserved sectors, thus animating and sustaining the social advocacy of the owners and the stakeholders.

 OBJECTIVES

-To bundle package and enhance the new separate CSR-related initiatives of the various DALTA Group business and tap their possible synergies-thus being able to do more with the same or less resources.

-To establish programs. structures or systems that will enable the Foundation to run effectively and efficiently.

-To raise funds and resources that match the foundation’s needs and values.

-To establish programs and use modalities that will enable the Foundation to reach target sectors beyond the limits of physical facilities and geographic locations.
